Assalamu alaikum...

This is a story that a Sister wrote about her experince...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am an american revert...I have been muslim for almost 4 years, alhumdilillah. I had this bright idea one day...My idea was that I would go to these sites where they bash us and tell lies about us...I thought I could go and tell them the truth...if not convert them...then at least make them stop hating us so much...In the beginning it worked...I made many friends and I was able to tell them the truth about Islam...erase some of the myths...but then there were some that no matter what I said...they were just bent on proving Islam wrong...(my goal was never to debate whether it was right or wrong...my goal was just to get the truth out)...Now all this time I felt that my deen was strong...but when you keep getting people posting things that makes you question Islam...it reminds you that your deen is not always as strong as you think it is...No matter how devout you think you are...if you even open the door the slightest crack...shaytan can and will slam it the rest of the way open...

I now understand why we are told that we should not "hang out" with non believers...I also understand that now I must spend a lot of time praying and studying again to get my deen back.

Sisters please beware...Please be careful when talking with non believers even if the purpose is to help them understand...
