IN THE NAME OF ALLAH
Kids beneath seige
By forqani… courtesy Al-jazeera
- - Rawan abu Ta'amah (a Palestinian girl aged about 10-rafah) says: we are living now in the school because our house was destroyed by the Israelis … see? This was my room I heard the gun shoots they destroyed my house … I don't and won't forget... Kids never forget.
- - wafa Mohamed ( a Palestinian girl - rafah ) : we were in our house suddenly the jews entered and kicked us from the house and we became homeless then they blew up my home and then they left ……. I would like to go back and bring my toys … but I'm afraid … I want them … but I'm afraid.
- -Wissam al Nazer (a Palestinian girl): don't shush me … you shut up … you beet me up and then you say shush? you kill us and then you want to shush us ? Look at those Israelis! They have forbidden us from every thing … they have forbidden me from living my childhood … they forbid me going out and having fun … I always see kinds around the globe … I see the settlers children how they dance and sing in their feasts … I don't want any thing … I just want to visit my relatives in the feast .. I want them to visit us … they took the joy from us … my mother wanted to buy some cookies for the feast but I told her not to … why would we buy them? No one will come there's no feast they took it from us …I see people visit each other in the feast... I have to stay in the house.
- Today …… we shall see another look for the Palestinian tragedy … we won't see a child carrying an olive branch …no we will hear the truth from them … they will tell us about their childhood … that was taken away from them .
- It's very obvious in their drawings tht they suffer a lot … they draw tanks … they draw soldiers killing children … killing their friends their brothers or sisters … they are drawing the separating wall nowadays … they are suffering a lot from this wall … even their colors …colors are dark … black, dark brown … they are expressing their sadness … they suffer a lot of sadness … the INTIFDA showed or uncovered their creativity … sadness and occupation forced them to express their feelings in a creative way …
- -Wissam al Nazer : this area is now occupied by the settlers they are in army I'm afraid … there only 3 arab families in this area … some one could kidnap me easily or just shoot me in the hed and no one would even care …
- - Jivara al Budeiri (al-jazeera's reporter): what? Why are you afraid?
- - Wissam al Nazer : there's a big dog there… and soldiers
- - Jivara al Budeiri: what's wrong?
- -Wissam: those soldiers... they control the passage here …they sometimes stop me …sometimes they let me pass as they like they torture us this way …
- -Jivara: who is that one that just passed?
- -Wissam : he's a settler he lives in the area ... I have to cross this passage where ever I want to go … if I want to go to school or anywhere I have to cross this passage …
The interview was interrupted by an Israeli soldier …
- The soldier : you're not allowed to shoot here no press leave at once
Jivara: it's not allowed? Ha?
A female settler: go this is our country
Jivara: It’s not your country I’m going to her house. Ok. It’s your country but I have to pass
- The female settler: no! no going no
- Jivara : from the other way
- An other Israeli soldier : I decide here I'll show you the other way
- Jivara: you?! The occupation?
- Wissam : they won't let you pass you're journalists they will close the door … we will have to cross threw the farm lands … they came once to our house and my cousin started to cry they took her toy even just to make her cry then one of them shouted "if she cries any more I will shoot her" then another one said "leave this place and we will give any passport you want we will give you 20 million dollars for each , leave we may even let you live in telaviv -tal al rabi'a- " my mother said I will cut you in pieces and put you in that box of money that you brought with you , then we kicked them out of our house . they tried to kidnap me last time …a young man tried to protect me they took him away they he was beaten and then they shot him and now I don't know what happened to him …this incident affected me a lot … he just tried to help me he was shot and taken I don't know where to I don't know what happened to him … I don't know his name …this was the first time I see him … when he was shot I wished to be in his place why he should die because of me ? –She was crying – I chose to live here …it's not his fault … I chose to live here … it's not his fault … he may have family or perhaps he had kids I...I... he … he … - crying – it's not his fault...
- I don't know where is he now perhaps he's dead now perhaps he's in prison now I don't know … I heard the talking about a martyr that day I started to cry because i thought in leaving this place but not anymore I won't let them to control me I shall defy them they won't control my mind anymore.
Army … soldiers … bullets … occupation … siege … martyrs …words that became daily in Palestine's kids dictionary … triggering alarms … about a threaten childhood … Palestine's children are growing up before their time … 2400 kid are arrested during this INTIFADA 300 of them still in jail …. 2477 civilian martyr among them there was a lot of children we all remember IMAN HAJJO the little girl that was aged in months only … she was a threat for the Israelis why ? because she represented hope … though they are daily threaten by Israeli bullets … arrests … killing … devastation … siege … a total war crime against humanity … they still have the will of living … they still want to resist … even by making kites that carry their dreams … they are witnesses of the crime that is happening against all humanity and human rights ……
They are the kids of Palestine … kids beneath siege …
Over.
