I am a Muslim woman, to Allah I pray
I worship Him in every act, the whole day
And….I wear Hijab

Caringly I’m a daughter, a sister, and a wife
Tenderly I’m a mother, a friend, I live my life
And still….I wear Hijab

I’m a teacher, a doctor, an engineer,
A manager, a journalist, or any career
And still…. I wear Hijab

I’m polite, civilized, cultured, and educated,
I’m open-minded, modern, and liberated
And still….I wear Hijab

I speak Arabic, English, French, and more
I say “yes” to peace, I say “no” to war
And still….I wear Hijab

I read the Hadith, I memorize the Quran
I read Hugo, Shakespeare, as well as Jubran
And still….I wear Hijab




Come on women, come on girls
Let us be the precious pearls
No matter who blames, insults, or hurls
Let us all still wear the Hijab
