All the praise is due to Allah, We praise him and seek his help and ask for his forgiveness and guidance. We seek refuge in Allah from the wickedness of our souls and from our bad deeds. Indeed who got the guidance from Allah 3aza wa jalla will never go astray. And who got astray will not get the guidance except from Allah. I bear witness there is no god but Allah the most beneficent and the most merciful and peace and blessings be upon the final messenger Mohammad, his family and followers.
كن معهم قال تعالى { وَسَارِعُواْ إِلَى مَغْفِرَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالأَرْضُ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ }آل عمران 133
And Hasten to forgiveness from your Lord; and a Garden, the extensiveness of which is as wide the heavens and the earth. It is prepared for those who guard against evil
بُشارة المحبة : { إِنَّ اللّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُتَّقِينَ} سورة التوبة : 4
Verily Allah loves those who are careful
· الجنات والعيون: {إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ} سورة الذاريات: 15.
Surely those who fear Allah and guard against evil will be in gardens and fountains
· قبول الصدقة: {إِنَّمَا يَتَقَبَّلُ اللّهُ مِنَ الْمُتَّقِينَ} سورة المائدة: 27.
Indeed Allah only accepts from those who guard
Who are the Mutaqueen?
الذين يؤمنون بالغيب ويقيمون الصلاة ومما رزقناهم ينفقون
Those who believe in the unseen and keep up prayers and spend out of what we have given them.
What will happen if one becomes from Moutaqueen? Does it really matters? Yes it does. First of all in this dounia, you will be from the best Oummah. In the hearafter, you will be saved from the great fearful event. “The great fearful event shall not grieve them and the angels shall meet them: This your day that you were promised”
)لَا يَحْزُنُهُمُ الْفَزَعُ الْأَكْبَرُ وَتَتَلَقَّاهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ هَذَا يَوْمُكُمُ الَّذِي كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ }الأنبياء103 )
How to be from the Moutaqueen?
Ramadan is the month of fasting and fasting is the direct path to Taqwa.
يا ايها الذين آمنوا كتب عليكم الصيام كما كتب على الذين من قبلكم لعلكم تتقون
Oh you who believe, fasting was prescribed upon you as it was prescribed for those before you so that you attain Taqwa.
This is the great objective of Fasting. It is the Taqwa. This Taqwa that would wake up in the hearts to wake up the minds and the souls. This Taqwa will fortify the hearts against fitan for the whole year. Those who believe in Allah and those who are pious know the true meaning of having a fortress against fitan.
So let us look back at our Ramadan and how much were we able to enhance our Taqwa during this month. I wish and I pray for Allah that all of us have really had a complete U-Turn towards Allah in this month. I pray for Allah that all of us are from the ones who got freed from hell fire during this Ramadan. I pray for Allah that all of us were fasting and making qiyam for the sake of Allah because
من صام ايماناً واحتساباً غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه ومن قام ايماناً واحتساباً غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه
في المسند أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال : ( الصيام والقرآن يشفعان للمؤمن يوم القيامة )
However, some of us might have missed their plans or were behind their schedule for Ramadan. We should not accept this fact and let it go. Why? Because
ويل لمن لم يغفر له.. قال صلى الله عليه وسلم : « أتاني جبريل فقال يامحمد من أدرك شهر رمضان فمات ولم يغفر له فأدخل النار فأبعده الله قل أمين فقلت أمين» رواه الطبراني عن جابر بن سمرة
Hence, the results are not easy to bear. Furthermore, we still have time because in Islam the deeds are judged by the intentions and the ends.
إنما الأعمال بالنيات وإنما الأعمال بخواتيمها
So, you still have time. In fact, you have a lot a lot of times. We still have the nectar of Ramadan. We still have four chances to match the night of Elevated Status. That night is better than a thousand months.
إنا انزلناه في ليلة القدر وما ادراك ما ليلة القدر. ليلة القدر خير من الف شهر. تنزل الملائكة والروح فيها بإذن ربهم من كل امر. سلام هي حتى مطلع الفجر.
Seek this night in the odd nights of the last ten. The first special night was yesterday. We still have four others. Do not miss this chance.
Do we still have any other chances? Yes of course. The door of Dou3a2 is always open and Allah.
وإذا سألك عبادي عني فإني قريب اجيب دعوة الداع إذا دعان فليستجيبوا لي وليؤمنوا بي لعلهم يرشدون
And when my servants ask you concerning me. Then surely I am very near. I answer the dou3a2 of the suppliant when he calls on me.
What else? A lot a lot. We cannot count the bounties of Allah.
وإن تعدوا نعمة الله لا تحصوها.
And if you want to count Allah’s favours, you will not be able to number them.
So do we still have time? Yes indeed. Let us go back to our Quran’s. Back to our Quiyam, back to our sadaka, and back to Rightous to our parents. I will allocate the second khoutbah to ponder upon the value of Charity and Sadaka in Ramadan as this is one of the most amazing tool that would lead muslims to Jannah bi iznilah.
