The Law Of Gravity

I have an object in my hand.

I release that object from my grasp.

It falls to the ground.

I pick it up and once again release it.

And once again it falls to the ground.

If I repeat my action a third time there is no doubt in my mind what the outcome will be.

In fact, I had no doubt at all what would happen the first time I released the object.

The law of gravity is constantly at work and I fully accept that.

Even if I do not want to accept this law, it is still in operation.

Its power or reality is not dependent on my faith or lack thereof.

Now I think about my own life.

I am 42 years old.

Never, and I mean never, have I lived a day on this Earth that I have not had enough provisions to stay alive.

The proof is that I am still here.

42 years of consistent provisions.

Did you know that 1 year = 31 556 926 seconds?

Now multiply that by 42.

That's 1 325 390 892 seconds!

I think that is a pretty good record!

In fact, it is more reliable than the law of gravity.

Then why, please tell me, do I have my moments of doubt and fear?

Why do I have more faith in the law of gravity than the maker of that law?
