I started wearing my hijjab in August of this year, i wear the hijjab and jalbab.
well let me say i realised what modesty ment when i walked out of my house wearing the hijjab for the first time, my son said mum im proud of you...... . Even my cousin brothers know where to draw the line, i feel respected and proud to be muslim.
From someone who used to go clubbing, drink and smoke, Alhumdulilah i thanx Allah for showing the grate path of Islam and Inshallah keep me on it.
I realised who my friends where when i started covering, so unfortunatley im left with very little friends...one of my best friends didnt speak to me for weeks when i told her i started covering and one day when she was on msn she said we cant be friends like we used to coz we cant go clubbing or out at night, my relpy to her was, if we are mates not going out at night isnt going to brake the bond we have, we can go out during the day for a coffee etc... im still waiting to here from her.......
But i am happier then i have ever been in my 28 years on being alive on this planet my heart and mind are at peace. all by the glory of Allah.
As for my family, my mother and father are happy to see there daughter turn to islam...my brothers and sister are happy for my also, but im the only one out of my siblings that practice to the extent i do....i pray Allah shows them the path, Ameen.
