O Muslims, Have We Become Blind to the Realities?

All praise is due to Allaah, Lord of the worlds. All praise is due to the One who did not take a child and Who has no partner in His dominion and there is no deity along with Him. The One besides Whom there is no deity, so there is no creator besides Him and no lord besides Him; He alone is deserving of all forms of worship, therefore, He decreed that we worship none but Him. That is because Allaah is the Truth, and that which they call upon other than Him is falsehood, and because Allaah is the Most High, the Grand. All praise is due to Allaah Who said (what means):
Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allaah Knows, while you know not.

All praise is due to Allaah who said (what means):Do not think it bad for you; rather it is good for you. And I bear witness that there is no deity besides Allaah Alone and He has no partners.

The One (exalted and praised be He) Who said (what means): Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while such [trial] has not yet come to you as came to those who passed on before you? They were touched by poverty and hardship and were shaken until [even their] messenger and those who believed with him said," When is the help of Allaah?" Unquestionably, the help of Allaah is near.

And I bear witness that our leader, Muhammad, is the slave of Allaah and His Messenger, His chosen one and close friend who said: "A group of my ummah (followers) will continue fighting at the gates of Damascus and what surrounds it and at the gates of Bayt al Maqdis (al-Masjid al Aqsaa) and what surrounds it, victorious upon the truth; those who let them down (i.e.desert them) will not harm them, until the Hour is established.

O Allaah, send prayers and salutations upon him abundantly and bless him and his household, his companions, his beloved ones, his followers, those who are guided by his guidance and follow his way and follow in his footsteps until the Day of Recompense.

To proceed:

Dear brothers and sisters in Islaam,

It is necessary for us to be well aware of the events taking place around us. How can we allow ourselves to sit back without addressing the issue of the plight of our brothers and sisters in Ghazzah while the rest of the world sits back and puts the blame of terrorism perpetrated by the Zionists on the shoulders of the Muslims? Shameful indeed would be the case if we did not voice our concerns and do something about the situation. Following are matters to take into consideration and perhaps after pondering over them we will be encouraged to do our part.

Let us begin by recalling this reality: the struggle between us and the Zionists/Jews (Yahood) is not one for land and boundaries, but rather it is about faith and existence! Yes, never forget this reality. Therefore, the attack against our brothers and sisters in Palestine is not simply an attack against them, but it is an attack against each and every believer.

Allaah is the One Who knows all things, the Creator of the Heavens and the earth informs us of many realities, and He is all Knowing (And none can inform you like [one] Acquainted [with all matters]. 35:14 Does He Who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted? 67:14).

Therefore, you will find in what follows only that which we have been informed of by Allaah in the Quraan and through His Messenger as found in his ahaadeeth. You will not find opinions of so and so and so and so, rather you will find only that which has come to us through revelation from our Lord, the Creator of all things. Clearly then, these words will only affect and have an impact on true believers, those who believe in Allaah as their Lord, in Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, as their Messenger and those who believe in the ultimate meeting with Allaah on the Day of Reckoning. Denying any of these realities as found in the authentic texts renders one an infidel, a disbeliever!

O Muslims, O people of tawheed (monotheism), O followers of Muhammad (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam), know and be certain that the Zionist regime is not serious about peace and they will never abide by any peace agreements. One may question this reality and claim that the Zionists are ready to reach agreements and sign peace treaties. However, our Lord, Allaah, has informed us that these people are treacherous and they are notorious for breaking promises. They have no intention of abiding by accords/agreements reached in Oslo, Madrid, Camp David, or elsewhere for that matter. How can I be certain of that? Because my Lord (exalted and High is He) informed me of this. You will find this quality attributed to them by Allaah in His final revelation which will continue to be recited till the Last Day.

Allaah says…O Muslims! Note that I said, Allaah says (what means): "The ones with whom you made a treaty but then they break their pledge every time, and they do not fear Allaah." [8:56] Allaah said this about these people to His Messenger, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam. Allaah says (what means): "Is it not [true] that every time they took a covenant a party of them threw it away? But, [in fact], most of them do not believe." [2:100].

This is why they deserved the curse of Allaah, due to their breaking covenants and their refusal to abide by agreements and accepting the truth. Allaah says (what means): "So for their breaking of the covenant We cursed them and made their hearts hard. They distort words from their [proper] usages and have forgotten a portion of that of which they were reminded. And you will still observe deceit among them, except a few of them. But pardon them and overlook [their misdeeds]. Indeed, Allaah loves the doers of good." [5:13]

Can it be clearer than this?! Our problem is that we continue to be deceived by these people and refuse to listen to what Allaah and His Messenger have informed and warned us of. When will we go to the table realizing who we are dealing with and as such deal with them in the appropriate manner? Again, let me reiterate and say that the Zionists/Jews (Yahood) are not serious about peace and will never abide by agreements. They broke their covenants with Prophets and Messengers, nay, with the Lord of the Heavens and the Earth as well! So after this, do you really think that they will keep their word with politicians and statesmen?!

What can we expect from a people who said things about Allaah which would make your stomach turn and cause great pain to your heart. Allaah says (what means): "Allaah has certainly heard the statement of those [Jews] who said, "Indeed, Allaah is poor, while we are rich." We will record what they said and their killing of the prophets without right and will say, "Taste the punishment of the Burning Fire." [3:181]
Allaah says (what means): "And the Jews say, "The hand of Allaah is chained." Chained are their hands, and cursed are they for what they say. Rather, both His hands are extended; He spends however He wills. And that which has been revealed to you from your Lord will surely increase many of them in transgression and disbelief. And We have cast among them animosity and hatred until the Day of Resurrection. Every time they kindled the fire of war [against you], Allaah extinguished it. And they strive throughout the land [causing] corruption, and Allaah does not like corrupters. [5:64]

Allaah says (what means): "And when there came to them a Book from Allaah confirming that which was with them – although before they used to pray for victory against those who disbelieved – but [then] when there came to them that which they recognized, they disbelieved in it; so the curse of Allaah will be upon the disbelievers." [2:89]

Allaah says (what means): "And when a messenger from Allaah came to them confirming that which was with them, a party of those who had been given the Scripture threw the Scripture of Allaah behind their backs as if they did not know [what it contained]." [2:101]

Allaah says (what means): "Those to whom We gave the Scripture know him as they know their own sons. But indeed, a party of them conceal the truth while they know [it]." [2:146]

These are realities which no one can deny; how can we while they come from Allaah?! However, due to the ignorance of many Muslims, we find that they are awaiting a resolution to this problem in Palestine and elsewhere through mediation and they think that the international community will assist in bringing about a resolution. We don't deny that there are those in the West and non-Muslims who sympathize with us, but they are undoubtedly a minority. As a matter of fact, many who oppose the killing of children and civilians still say that the Zionist regime has a right to defend itself. So the fact of the matter is that believers should never expect help from the outside.

Dear Muslims, we find amongst us those who may have evil thoughts; some may question Allaah's justice and claim that He is oppressing us by not preventing the bloodshed we are witnessing. However, clearly such people have not realized that we are really the cause of these problems. Rather than laying the blame on Allaah or on others, we need to take responsibility for what has befallen us, we need to admit to our shortcomings and stop blaming others.

Allaah says (what means): "That is because Allaah would not change a favor which He had bestowed upon a people until they change what is within themselves. And indeed, Allaah is Hearing and Knowing." [8:53]

So since the ummah has changed (for the worse), Allaah has caused our condition to change as well. This is from the laws which Allaah has laid down in His creation. Don't you see that the Muslims were defeated at Uhud even while the commander-in-chief was the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam)? Due to the disobedience of a few archers, the battle was lost. In reality, they disobeyed one order, that they should not leave their posts under any circumstances. However, when a group disobeyed (they left their posts thinking the battle was over since their brothers were collecting the war booty), we all know what the consequences of that were. Allaah says: "Why [is it that] when a [single] disaster struck you [on the day of Uhud], although you had struck [the enemy in the battle of Badr] with one twice as great, you said, "From where is this?" Say, "It is from yourselves." Indeed, Allaah is over all things competent." [3:165]

Thus, there is no doubt whatsoever that what has befallen us today is from ourselves. I am at fault and you too are at fault; we all have shortcomings. The enemies planned and worked towards their goals and attained many of them. As for us, what have we done? Sadly, little to nothing. We haven't prepared as our Lord commanded us to. "And prepare against them whatever you are able of power and of steeds…" [8:60]
We've been ordered to prepare in every way: prepare through your faith, through worship, through manners, through education, through thought, through economics, through politics, through military means, etc… Where is that preparation? We're still awaiting assistance from our opponents, we're still awaiting help from the East and West.

Ummat al Islaam, "Indeed, Allaah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves." [13:11]! Allaah changed victory to defeat, honour to disgrace and strength to weakness only when we went from piety to impiety and He will not change our condition again until such time that we change what is in ourselves; until we return to Him (in obedience), fulfilling our obligations, abstaining from the forbidden, respecting the boundaries laid down by Allaah and supporting His way. "O you who have believed, if you support Allaah (i.e. Allaah's cause), He will support you and plant firmly your feet." [47:7]
Therefore, since we have not done our share (for the most part), the victory has been delayed. Now that we know the problem, let each of us do his/her part in rectifying the situation.

Still some may be asking: "What can I do? What is my role?" My beloved brothers and sisters, the reality is that we are here, far away from the battlefield and thus it is not possible for us to give ourselves. However, we can give of our wealth. But don't fool yourself by giving a little and trying to convince yourself that you've done your part in feeding the poor and aiding the ill. Rather, be honest with your Lord and be honest with yourself.

"Never will you attain the good [reward] until you spend [in the way of Allaah] from that which you love. And whatever you spend – indeed, Allaah is Knowing of it." [3:92]
Allaah says (what means): "O you who have believed, shall I guide you to a transaction that will save you from a painful punishment? [It is that] you believe in Allaah and His Messenger and strive in the cause of Allaah with your wealth and your lives. That is best for you, if you should know." [61:10-11]

So go ahead and give what you can and don't let the shaytaan deprive you of a great reward from Allaah. Find a reliable, legal Muslim charitable organization and give through them without allowing the shaytaan to deter you by his planting questions in your mind about how much of what you've given will be used for administrative fees (for example). Just be honest with Allaah and you'll see all that you've contributed on your scale of deeds on the Day of Reckoning.

Next, raise your children up upon the proper 'aqeedah (belief) of al-walaa wal baraa (loyalty and disavowal); if you don't do it now, then when?! They absolutely need to know who their true friends/allies and true enemies are. Our Creator teaches this to us and we must understand it well and teach it to our children. Sadly, many so-called Muslims today try to explain these verses away or interpret them in a manner other than that presented in the Quraan and the Sunnah.

The Quraan, however, is clear: "O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among you – then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allaah guides not the wrongdoing people." [5:52]

"Many of the People of the Scripture wish they could turn you back to disbelief after you have believed, out of envy from themselves [even] after the truth has become clear to them. So pardon and overlook until Allaah delivers His command. Indeed, Allaah is over all things competent." [2:109]

"You will surely find the most intense of the people in animosity toward the believers [to be] the Jews and those who associate others with Allaah…" [5:82]
"O you who have believed, do not take My enemies and your enemies as allies, extending to them affection while they have disbelieved in what came to you of the truth" [60:1] And the verses are plenty.

As well, you can engage in du'aa (supplication). Turn to Allaah, the One who manages all affairs and controls all things. However, meet the conditions for having your supplications accepted first. Keep your duty to Allaah; establish the regular prayers, observe the hijaab, fulfill your basic obligations towards Allaah, earn through lawful means, abstain from taking and paying interest, abstain from that which Allaah has forbidden and repent for all wrongs and shortcomings.

Du'aa is indeed a powerful tool, so don't make little of it! While offering your daily salaah (prayers) did you pray for your brothers and sisters in each sajdah (prostration)? How many times have you raised your hands, humbling yourself before Allaah and begging of His help in the middle of the night while others were sleeping? Do you think then that a people stingy with du'aa will be generous with their lives and wealth?! Lip service is not sufficient; we need to work and put into practice this methodology/way of life that Allaah has laid down for us in the Quraan.

Let me conclude by saying: No matter how much falsehood appears to be appealing and victorious, except that it will certainly be destroyed. And no matter how much the truth appears to be weak, frail and defeated, except that it will certainly prevail!
Allaah says (what means): "Rather, We dash the truth upon falsehood, and it destroys it, and thereupon it departs." [21:18]
"And say, "Truth has come, and falsehood has departed. Indeed is falsehood, [by nature], ever bound to depart."" [17:81]
"[They continued] until, when the messengers despaired and were certain that they had been denied, there came to them Our victory, and whoever We willed was saved. And Our punishment cannot be repelled from the people who are criminals." [12:110]

O Allaah, assist our fellow Muslims in Palestine. O Allaah, assist our brethren in Ghazzah. Our Lord, our brothers and sisters are suffering at the hands of the Zionist regime who know no mercy; O Allaah, destroy the plots of these criminals and show them no mercy. Lord of the heavens and the earth, we beg of You to relieve the suffering of our brethren wherever they are being dealt with unjustly. O Allaah, plant firmly the feet of those who are fighting for Your cause. O Allaah, forgive us our shortcomings and sins and guide us towards the truth. Our Lord, we have no one to turn to but You, and should You abandon us, we have nowhere and no one else to turn to.
