Sometimes one may be subjected to a series of disappointments in his lifetime,
until he becomes himself a "disappointment" to others.

This would make him view himself as a "disappointment" to himself as well.

Not surprisingly he would be viewed by all as a "source of disappointment".

It is strange how others sometimes may be the cause of the "damage", the reinforcers of it, but in the end claim that the "sufferer" himself is the provoker of it.

The most pathetic part of this is that the victim himself eventually comes to believe that this is actually "innate" in him.
