Sometimes I believe that having muslims preoccupied in diverse interests is one of the major reasons behind the segregation and division in our muslim community.

It is not bad to have diverse interests in life, but this would be bad if the concern in those issues outweighed the concern of maintaining the muslim unity.

It is not bad to be occupied in diverse life concerns, but it would be bad if one views his own interests as being the major concern and others' interests as being minor ones
.
A muslim may not be obliged to get actively involved in others' concerns, especially if they are not matching with his, but this does not mean that he should not be concerned.

Being concerned does not require that you be involved.
Just accepting that others have some interests that are equal in importance of your own is a good start for maintaining the binds of a healthy muslim community.
